  • Confirm that the head and the tail cap pieces are on the correct sides. The tail cap should be on the side where the pocket clip connects. If you put the light in your pocket with the pocket clip the LED would face down.
  • Confirm that the head and tail pieces are completely tight on the body of the flashlight.

FD41

  • Confirm that your batteries are good. Try using the battery in another device.

  • If the focus ring is too tight to turn, apply a small amount of oil lubrication under the ring. Typically once you turn the ring the first time it will loosen up.
  • Confirm that your batteries are good. Try using the battery in another device.
  • Confirm that the batteries are inserted into the light facing the correct directions. 2 batteries should go in positive (+) side toward the head (LED) and 2 should go in negative (-) side down, as indicated on the inside of the flashlight.
  • Confirm that there is only one o-ring on the light. The o-ring that comes in the box is a spare. The light already has an o-ring on it when you first remove it from the box. If you put on the spare o-ring, please remove it as this will prevent the light from making a full connection with the batteries.
  • Click and hold the power switch for .5 seconds. A single click will not turn the light on, you must hold the button down.
  • The rotation ring can become very tight and may be difficult to turn after not being used for a while. However once you turn it the ring should "loosen up" again.

  • If the light turns on but the side switch does not cycle through brightness levels, your light is most likely in the Tactical Mode. The get to Outdoor Mode turn the light on and then click and hold the side switch for about 3-4 seconds. The light will turn off momentarily and you will see 3 long, slow flashes. Let go of the side switch at this time. Once the light is back on a steady beam it will be in Outdoor Mode and the side switch will cycle through the brightness levels. 

PD35 and PD35 V2

  • Confirm that your batteries are good. Try using the battery in another device.

  • If the light only works while plugged in and/or if the charging indicator never stops cycling but it is not working when unplugged, the battery may be bad.
  • Please note that USB discharge from the light to other devices may not work with all devices.

S Series

  • Confirm that the batteries are inserted into the light facing the correct directions indicated in the battery compartment. All batteries should be Positive (+) side facing up.
  • Confirm that the battery cap is screwed down all the way.
  • Click and hold the power switch for .5 seconds. A single click will not turn the light on, you must hold the button down.
  • Confirm that there is only one o-ring on the light. The o-ring that comes in the box is a spare. The light already has an o-ring on it when you first remove it from the box. If you put on the spare o-ring, please remove it as this will prevent the light from making a full connection with the batteries.

  • If your light won't turn on or won't charge, be sure to remove the plastic insulation disc (please watch video) inside the flashlight body as soon as you get the light.
  • Confirm that your batteries are good. Try using the battery in another device.
  • Confirm that the batteries are inserted into the light facing the correct directions indicated on the tail cap. The Negative (-) end of the battery should be on the side near the battery cap.
  • Click and hold the power switch for .5 seconds. A single click will not turn the light on, you must hold the button down.
  • Confirm that the battery cap is screwed down all the way. Please note that the battery cap on this lantern is very difficult to screw down all the way. Lubricate the threads with some petroleum jelly (Vasaline) or some threading lube but be careful not to use too much. When you think the battery cap is screwed down all the way, reset your grip and really crank it hard again just to be sure.
