The Fenix BC22R is a high-performance road bike light. This summary is drawn from the manufacturer's official user manual — see the downloadable PDF reference manual on the product page for complete details.
Warning
- Do not place this light in the reach of children.
- Do not shine the light directly into the eyes of anyone.
- Do not place the light head near flammable objects — high temperatures can cause objects to overheat and become flammable/ignite.
- Do not use the light in inappropriate ways such as holding the unit in your mouth; doing so could cause serious personal injury or death if the light or internal battery fails.
- This light will accumulate a significant amount of heat while operating, resulting in a high temperature of the light shell. Pay close attention to avoid burns.
- Turn off the light to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
- The LED of this light is not replaceable; the light will need to be replaced when the LED reaches the end of its lifespan.

Operating Instructions
On/Off: press and hold the switch for 0.5 seconds to turn the light on/off.
Output Selection: with the light switched on, single click the switch to cycle through Low → Med → High → Turbo.
Flash Mode: with the light switched on, press and hold the switch for 1.2 seconds to enter Flash; single click again to exit Flash and return to the previously used output.
Intelligent Memory Circuit: the light memorizes the last selected output, excluding Flash. When turned on again, the previously used output will be recalled.
Battery Specifications
- Fenix ARB-L18 Series (18650, 3.6V): Recommended
- Non-rechargeable Lithium (CR123A, 3.0V): Banned
- Rechargeable Li-ion (18650, 3.6V): Cautious
- Rechargeable LiFePO4 (16340, 3.2V): Banned
- Rechargeable LiFePO4 (18650, 3.2V): Banned
18650 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Only using quality batteries with circuit protection will reduce the potential for combustion or explosion; cell damage or short circuiting are considered user-induced damage and are not covered by any Fenix warranty or liability.
Battery Replacement: unscrew the light body and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light head back on.
Charging
Turn off the light, open the anti-dust cover to reveal the USB Type-C charging port, and connect the USB Type-C socket of the charging cable to the light. The indicator will display red while charging and will turn green when fully charged — be sure to close the anti-dust cover afterward to maintain dustproof and waterproof ability. The normal charging time is approximately 3 hours from depleted to fully charged; recharge a stored light every four months to maintain optimum battery performance. Low or Med output can be operated while charging, but the charging time will be prolonged.
Battery Level Indication
With the light switched off, single click the switch to check the battery status; the indicator will last for 3 seconds: green on (saturated, 100–85%), green flashing (sufficient, 85–50%), red on (poor, 50–25%), red flashing (critical, 25–1%).

Note: Specs measured by Fenix using one Fenix ARB-L18-3400 battery at 21±3°C / 50–80% humidity; real-world performance varies. *Turbo output is measured in total runtime including output at reduced levels due to temperature or the built-in protection mechanism.
Intelligent Overheat Protection
The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C/140°F or above, it will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature; when the temperature drops below 60°C/140°F, the light automatically recalls the previously used output level.
Low Voltage Warning
When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the light is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. At Low output, the battery level indicator blinks red to remind you to replace or recharge the battery.
Usage and Maintenance
- Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage and will void the warranty.
- Recharge the battery in time to ensure normal use for next time, and recharge a stored light every four months to maintain optimum performance.
- Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
- If the lamp will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or it could be damaged by electrolyte leakage.
- Loosen the light body or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
- Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves performance, as dirty contacts may cause flickering, intermittent shining, or failure to illuminate.
- If issues persist, contact your authorized distributor.
