Can a 16340 battery be used in place of a CR123A battery?Updated 12 days ago
It depends on your flashlight. A 16340 is a rechargeable lithium-ion battery at about 3.6 V and a CR123A is a non-rechargeable 3 V lithium battery. They are similar in size, but some Fenix lights accept both, others accept only one, and the higher voltage of a 16340 can damage a light that was not designed for it, so it will not make a CR123A light brighter. Check your light's product listing or manual before substituting.
