  • Weight: 1.48 oz / 42 g (excluding battery).

Operating Instructions

On/Off: Fully press the tail switch to turn on/off the light.

Output Selection: With the light on, tap the tail switch to cycle through Eco → Low → Med → High.

Battery Specifications

  • Ni-MH Battery (AA, 1.2V): Recommended.
  • Alkaline Battery (AA, 1.5V): Usable.
  • Non-rechargeable Battery (AA, 1.5V): Usable.
  • Rechargeable Li-ion Battery (14500, 3.7V): Banned.

Battery Replacement: Unscrew the light tail and insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light tail back on.

Low-Voltage Warning

When voltage drops below the level required for the selected mode, the light steps down until Eco is reached, and keeps operating until the batteries are fully depleted.

Intelligent Overheat Protection

At 58°C or above on High, output steps down about 1% per second until it reaches Med; original output is restored on the next power-on once the light cools.

Technical Parameters (ANSI/PLATO FL1)

Specifications are Fenix lab testing results using a 1900mAh/Eneloop Ni-MH battery and a quality Alkaline battery at 21±3°C and 50–80% humidity.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery to avoid damage from electrolyte leakage or battery explosion.
  • Unscrew the tail cap half a turn or take out the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear; replace with an approved spare to maintain a proper water seal.
  • Periodic cleaning of the battery contacts improves performance — clean with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol if flickering occurs, or contact your authorized distributor.
