Fenix PD32R Reference Manual and SpecificationsUpdated an hour ago

The Fenix PD32R is a rechargeable silent-switch EDC flashlight. This summary is drawn from the manufacturer's official user manual — see the downloadable PDF reference manual on the product page for complete details.

Warning

  • Do not place this flashlight within the reach of children.
  • Do not shine this flashlight directly into the eyes of anyone.
  • Do not place this flashlight near flammable objects — high temperatures can cause objects to overheat and become flammable/ignite.
  • Do not use this flashlight in inappropriate ways such as holding the unit in your mouth; doing so could cause serious personal injury or death if the flashlight or internal battery fails.
  • This flashlight will accumulate a significant amount of heat while operating, resulting in a high temperature of the flashlight shell. Pay close attention to avoid burns.
  • Remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • The LED of this flashlight is not replaceable; the whole flashlight will need to be replaced when the LED reaches the end of its lifespan.

Overview

  • 1400 lumens maximum output, 344 meters maximum beam distance
  • Uses one Luminus SFT40 LED with a lifespan of 50,000 hours
  • Powered by an included 3400mAh battery and compatible with two CR123A batteries
  • A single silent multi-function tail switch controls the on/off function, strobe mode, and four brightness levels
  • Hidden USB Type-C charging port
  • Reverse polarity protection, to protect from improper battery insertion
  • Anti-roll and anti-slip body design
  • Included body clip for different lighting demands
  • Made of durable A6061-T6 aluminum with a premium type HAIII hard-anodized anti-abrasive finish
  • Size: 5.32'' x 1.04'' x 0.93'' / 135 x 26.5 x 23.6 mm. Weight: 4.80 oz / 136 g (including battery)

Operating Instructions

On/Off: tap the tail switch to momentarily turn on the light; release it and the light will go out. Fully press the tail switch to constantly turn on the light; press it again and the light will go out.

Output Selection: with the light switched on, tap the tail switch to cycle through Low → Med → High → Turbo.

Mode Switching: press and hold the tail switch for 0.5 seconds to enter Strobe mode; tap the tail switch once again to turn back to the previously used output level.

Intelligent Memory Circuit: the light memorizes the previously used output level, excluding Strobe mode. Each time it is turned on, the previously used output level will be activated.

Battery Specifications

  • Fenix ARB-L18 Series (18650, 3.6V): Recommended
  • Non-rechargeable Battery, Lithium (CR123A, 3.0V): Usable (no charging)
  • Rechargeable Battery, Li-ion (18650, 3.6V): Caution
  • Rechargeable Battery, Li-ion (16340, 3.6V) / LiFePO4 (18650, 3.2V): Banned

16340/18650 Li-ion batteries are powerful cells designed for commercial applications and must be treated with caution and handled with care. Use only quality batteries with circuit protection to reduce the potential risk of combustion or explosion; cell damage or short-circuiting remain potential risks the user assumes. While using two CR123A batteries, Turbo output cannot be operated, and the actual brightness of Strobe mode is 800 lumens.

Battery Replacement: unscrew the light tail to insert the battery with the anode side (+) towards the light head, then screw the light tail back on.

Charging

With the flashlight switched off, loosen the light neck to reveal the USB Type-C charging port and connect the USB Type-C socket of the charging cable to the light. The indicator will display red while charging and turn green when fully charged. Once charging has completed, be sure to tighten the light neck to maintain the dustproof and waterproof performance of the flashlight. The normal charging time of the Fenix ARB-L18-3400 battery is about 3 hours from depleted to fully charged with a 5V/2A charging adapter — recharge a stored light every four months to maintain optimum performance. The light cannot be operated while charging.

Battery Level Indication: loosen the light neck to reveal the battery level indicator. Each time the light is turned on, the indicator shows the current battery level for 3 seconds. Green light on: 100%-85%. Green light flashes: 85%-50%. Red light on: 50%-25%. Red light flashes: 25%-1%. This only works with a Fenix ARB-L18 Series battery.

Technical Parameters (ANSI/PLATO FL1)

  • Turbo: Output 1400 lumens, Runtime 2 hours 20 minutes*, Distance 344 meters, Intensity 29588 candela
  • High: Output 350 lumens, Runtime 4 hours 25 minutes, Distance 175 meters, Intensity 7691 candela
  • Med: Output 100 lumens, Runtime 16 hours 20 minutes, Distance 92 meters, Intensity 2121 candela
  • Low: Output 20 lumens, Runtime 70 hours, Distance 42 meters, Intensity 439 candela
  • Strobe: Output 1400 lumens

Impact Resistance: 1 meter  |  Submersible: IP68

Note: Specs measured by Fenix using the Fenix ARB-L18-3400 battery at 21±3°C / 50–80% humidity; real-world performance varies. *Turbo output is measured in total runtime including output at reduced levels due to temperature or the built-in protection mechanism.

Intelligent Overheat Protection

The light will accumulate a lot of heat when used at high output levels for extended periods. When it reaches a temperature of 60°C/140°F or above, it will automatically step down a few lumens to reduce the temperature; when the temperature drops below 60°C/140°F, it will gradually recall the preset output level.

Low-Voltage Warning

When the voltage level drops below the preset level, the flashlight is programmed to downshift to a lower brightness level until Low output is reached. When this happens in Low output, the light blinks 3 times every 5 minutes to remind users to recharge or replace the battery. This only works with a Fenix ARB-L18 Series battery.

Usage and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed components can cause damage to the light and will void the warranty.
  • Fenix recommends using an excellent quality battery.
  • If the light will not be used for an extended period, remove the battery, or it could be damaged by electrolyte leakage.
  • Loosen the tail cap or remove the battery to prevent accidental activation during storage or transportation.
  • Long-term use can result in O-ring wear — to maintain a proper water seal, replace the ring with an approved spare.
  • If the light flickers, shines intermittently, or fails to illuminate, check for a poor battery level (recharge or replace) or dirty threads/PCB board contacts (clean with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol).
  • If the above methods don't work, please contact the distributor.
