It depends on the model. Many Fenix lights can use non-rechargeable lithium batteries: for example, the PD25R accepts a non-rechargeable CR123A lithium battery (at reduced output) as well as its rechargeable 16340 battery. Other models are designed for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries only. Please check the product listing of whichever flashlight you're interested in for more information about which batteries it's compatible with.
