Fenix LR40R V1 TroubleshootingUpdated 12 days ago
These steps apply to the original LR40R. The LR40R V2.0 has a built-in battery that is not user-replaceable and no tail cap; to turn it on, press and hold the electronic switch for 0.5 seconds, or rotate the toggle switch to any mode if it is locked.
If your light won't turn on or won't charge, be sure to remove the plastic insulation disc inside the flashlight body as soon as you get the light.
Confirm that your batteries are good. Try using the battery in another device.
Confirm that there is only one o-ring on the light. The o-ring that comes in the box is a spare. The light already has an o-ring on it when you first remove it from the box. If you put on the spare o-ring, please remove it as this will prevent the light from making a full connection with the batteries.
Lubricate the o-ring using a small amount of silicone grease on the end of a cotton swab.
Confirm that the tail cap piece is completely tight on the body of the flashlight.
Click and hold the power switch for .5 seconds. A single click will not turn the light on, you must hold the button down.
If the light only works while plugged in and/or if the charging indicator never stops cycling but it is not working when unplugged, the battery may be bad.
Please note that USB discharge from the light to other devices may not work with all devices.
After you have completed the above troubleshooting steps, if your light is still not working, visit our Warranty and Repair page to review the policy and submit a claim.
