What are the differences between the Fenix PD35 TAC and the Fenix PD35 V2.0?Updated 2 years ago
While both are excellent LED flashlights, the PD35TAC and PD35 V2.0 do have a few differences. The Fenix PD35TAC features two operation modes: the Tactical Mode (access to turbo, low, and strobe) and the EDC Flashlight Mode, also known as outdoor mode (access to turbo, high, mid, low, eco, and strobe). This flashlight does feature both a tail switch and side switch, but the side switch is unable to change modes in the Tactical Setting. The PD35TAC also features a wider beam and has a maximum beam distance of 656 feet. Finally, the runtimes are a bit lower with the runtime on Turbo being 1 hour and 10 minutes and the runtime on Eco being 149 hours.
The Fenix PD35 V2.0 does not have multiple operation modes and is simple to operate with its tail switch and side switch design. It features a more focused beam and has a maximum beam distance of 820 feet. You'll see better runtimes with the PD35 V2.0 with a max runtime of 2 hours and 50 minutes in Turbo and 430 hours in Eco.
Similarities
- Both of these models have 5 brightness output levels plus a strobe mode.
- Both of these models have a tail cap switch for power and a side switch to cycle the brightness levels
- Both of these models have a memory function (the PD35TAC looses the memory function when in Tactical Mode)
