The PD40R V3.0 works best with the Fenix ARB-L21-5000 V2.0 battery. The older Fenix ARB-L21-5000 is not compatible with PD40R V3.0 because the minimum over-current protection value of ARB-L21-5000 is 14 A while the max operating current of PD40R V3.0 is greater than 14 A. Using a Fenix ARB-L21-5000 battery may activate the protection mechanism of the battery, which will cause light to go out.
