Yes, you can use and charge a Fenix 18650 battery 3500 mAh in the Fenix CL30R camping lantern. With the 3500 mAh battery, you'll gain 15-20% extra runtime compared with the 2600 mAh battery that is included with the lantern.

Can the CL30R be used while it is charging?

Yes it can be, but the lantern will only be used in the Low output while charging.

Can the Fenix ARB-L18 3500 mAh battery be charged and used in the Fenix CL25R or the CL30R LED Rechargeable Lanterns?

Yes, you can charge and use the Fenix ARB-L18 high-capacity 18650 3500 mAh battery in the Fenix CL25R and CL30R LED camping lanterns.

What batteries work in the Fenix CL30R lantern?

The Fenix CL30R lantern is compatible with three 18650 li-ion battery or six non-rechargeable CR123 lithium batteries. 18650 batteries used must be button-top style batteries. Flat-top 18650 batteries will not work in the CL30R.
