What can I do if a battery leaks in my flashlight?Updated 2 years ago
Unfortunately, battery corrosion is not covered under the normal Fenix Warranty and it can be rather hard to rectify problems caused by it. We are happy to do what we can to get your Fenix light back in order, whether it be to clean up the acidic residue or replace parts of the light with new pieces, just please be aware that any work like this would not be covered under warranty and may incur fees.
You can also try to clean up any corrosive residue yourself before having to send it in. The best way to do this is to mix a solution of baking soda and water until it is a paste-like substance. Use a soft to medium bristled tooth brush to scrub the corrosion until it has been cleaned up. Note that sometimes corrosion will not be able to be cleaned up entirely but the baking soda solution should neutralize any remaining acid and it is not likely to come back.
